A Menopause Symposium is being hosted in Broken Hill on 20 June 2024 giving locals an opportunity to learn more about menopause and peri-menopause symptoms and management.

The professionalism, dedication, and compassion of nurses and midwives across Far West NSW has been recognised today (May 13) as part of local celebrations for International Nurses Day (12 May) and International Day of the Midwife (5 May).

National Palliative Care Week marks the nation’s largest annual initiative aimed at deepening people’s understanding of palliative care and encouraging action around end-of-life planning. 

Communities across regional NSW can now have their first look at a $45.3 million dollar NSW Government investment into key healthcare worker accommodation, set to be rolled out across Broken Hill, Balranald, Cooma, Finley, Leeton, Narrandera and West Wyalong.  

Local midwife, Whitney Harris, has been awarded Far West Local Health District’s Midwife of the Year as part of celebrations across Broken Hill, Menindee, Buronga, and Wilcannia.

Construction for the Broken Hill Health Service Redevelopment will soon get underway following the appointment of the building contractor.

Broken Hill local and Registered Nurse, Nikola Chrisakis, has been awarded the prestigious Fay Newell Scholarship for 2024.
